LES SAISONS RUSSES BECOME PRINTEMPS SLAVES

Dear friends of Slavic culture and music,

On the eve of celebrating our 10th anniversary, we experienced a terrible heartbreak.

After nine seasons of concerts, shows, exciting encounters and unexpected discoveries, in 2022 we were preparing to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Saisons Russes de Montréal. The outbreak of war in Ukraine put an abrupt end to our preparations: distraught, we could no longer celebrate, and a time out was in order.

Our reflection was long, full of doubts and questions.

What was our mission? Did we still have our place in Montreal's cultural landscape? At the end of this reflection, we understood that our role was to show that art and music can serve as a bulwark against the destructive forces that assail us, and that artists of all origins form a united front against barbarism and violence.

From rupture to renewal!

We have therefore decided to revive the festival, under a new name that better reflects the universal values of tolerance, respect and appreciation of diversity that have always been ours. From the year 2023, our festival, celebrating the music and culture of all Slavic countries, will be called Les Printemps Slaves.

Our new programming will bring together some of our favorite artists, introduce some great new names, and have many surprises in store for you. Stay tuned, and join us in May to celebrate with us the great premiere of the Printemps Slaves!

About the Printemps Slaves

The Printemps slaves are the cultural showcase of the Slavic communities of the city of Montreal, and the annual rendezvous of all those interested in the richness and variety of these cultures. Through great classical music concerts, painting exhibitions and poetry readings, it's a world of discovery that awaits our audience!
